General Overview

Command, Control, Communications, and Battle Management (C3BM) systems engineering efforts include engaging in Command, Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) and Ballistic Missile Defense System Overhead Persistent Infra-Red Architecture (BOA) engineering, integration, capability assessment, new functionality development, and multi-national exchange designs. Systems engineering tasking includes translating mission objectives into detailed technical requirements, ensuring bi-directional traceability between system specifications, participating in reviews and assessments of C2BMC/BOA engineering products. The ideal candidate will be responsible for configuring, customizing, and maintaining IBM DOORS to enhance traceability and compliance across MDA/BC technical requirements baselines.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Update, maintain, and manage the MDA/BC requirements database using requirements management tools (e.g. IBM DOORS). Ensure requirements traceability across various levels of requirements decomposition.
  • Utilize IBM DOORS eXtension Langauge (DXL) to develop scripts for automation, reporting, and data analysis.
  • Ensure proper structuring of requirements, version control, and data integrity within IBM DOORS.
  • Collaborate with engineers, program managers, and key stakeholders to integrate IBM DOORS with other tools (e.g., IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management, JIRA, MATLAB, etc.)
  • Provide user support, troubleshooting, and training to MDA/BC personnel on IBM DOORS usage and best practices.
  • Participate in technical baseline efforts to develop specifications and interfaces for current and future C3BM software builds.
  • Prepare assessments and reports regarding C2BMC and BOA requirements, specifications, and capabilities, including but not limited to partition/module exchanges; trace activities between system-level requirements and subsystem-level requirements; and interface controls.
  • Generate customized assessments, reports, dashboards, and traceability matrices to support MDA/BC program requirements reviews and audits.
  • Engage in follow-on actions such as documentation reviews, informational updates, and technical assessments for MDA/BC technical boards and working groups (e.g. Engineering Review Board/Internal Configuration Control Board, Operational Capability List Working Group, C2BMC Requirements Working Group, Interface Control Working Group, and System Engineering Integration Council)
  • Prepare official meeting minutes and track action items to closure.
